Nationally Recognized Medical Education Programs

St. Luke’s is one of only 400 members of the prestigious Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems and has twice been named one of the best 25 teaching hospitals in the United States by Solucient. St. Luke’s offers 18 fully accredited residency/fellowship programs with 172 positions.

St. Luke’s is the first Temple University School of Medicine Clinical Campus in Northeastern Pennsylvania and provides clinical rotations for third- and fourth-year Temple medical students.

Oldest, Continuously Operating Diploma School of Nursing

In 1884, St. Luke’s became the fourth hospital in the United States to open a nursing school. Today, the fully accredited St. Luke’s School of Nursing has the distinction of being the nation’s oldest, continuously operating, hospital-based diploma nursing school. St. Luke’s also has an affiliation agreement with Moravian College of Bethlehem to offer a fully accredited baccalaureate degree in nursing.
