Bethlehem (7/23/2009) – Robert J. Coni, DO, has been named chief of Neurology for St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network.
Dr. Coni joined St. Luke's medical staff in 1995. In addition to serving as chief of Neurology, he also serves as medical director of St. Luke's Headache Center and as medical director for St. Luke's Acute Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Coni is one of seven physicians including Martin J. Fowler, Jr., DO; Douglas Nathanson, MD; Thomas Hurlbutt, DO; Fawad Mian, MD; Shilpa Pradhan, DO; and William Pistone, DO in the St. Luke's Neurology Associates practice.
Dr. Coni's expertise includes electrodiagnostic testing (EMG and electroencephalography), and he is trained in Botox injections for dystonia, pain and spasticity
Dr. Coni earned his medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, New York. He completed an internship at Peninsula Hospital Center in Far Rockaway, New York and a neurology residency at Albany Medical College Hospitals in Albany, New York.
A member of the American Academy of Neurology (Geriatric Section and Movement Disorders Section), Dr. Coni is a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, and he is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
