New Location for St. Luke's Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology
Bethlehem, PA. (11/7/2008) – Endocrinologists Robert B. Doll, MD and Bankim A. Bhatt, MD of St. Luke's Endocrinology Associates will merge the Allentown and Bethlehem offices to open new office space in Center Valley. The practice has been renamed St. Luke's Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology to better reflect what the specialists treat, according to the physicians.
The new location, at 3701 Corporate Parkway, Suite 130 in Center Valley, will allow the physicians to offer expanded services, including diabetes education and dietary counseling for patients with diabetes. The new phone number is 610-419-7300.
Endocrinology is a medical specialty that treats patients who are diagnosed with Type I and Type II diabetes, pituitary dysfunction, adrenal dysfunction, H\hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, as well as any disorders of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, pineal gland, parathyroid glands, ovary or testis.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Doll graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a bachelor's degree in biology. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Doll completed his residency and a two-year endocrinology and metabolism fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Penn State University School of Medicine and is one of the leading experts in the diagnosis, management and treatment of thyroid cancer in the Lehigh Valley.
Board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, Dr. Bhatt graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA with a Bachelor's of Science degree in chemistry. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Bhatt completed his residency at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. and a three-year endocrinology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Temple University's School of Medicine and is particularly interested in treating patients with diabetes. Dr. Bhatt has presented his research findings at national meetings and has published them in leading medical journals.
Consultations with the physicians at St. Luke's Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology are by physician referral. The practice is able to see patients within two weeks.
Patients who are experiencing frequent urination (day or night), excessive thirst or unexplained weight loss may have diabetes.
