The gift is part of the St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network capital campaign, Committed to Caring: The Campaign for St. Luke's.
  • More Funding for Upper Perkiomen Outpatient Center November 25, 2008 Ed Nawrocki, president, St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital, hosted a press conference to announce $250,000 in funds secured through the efforts of State Representative Robert Mensch. The funds will go toward the continued development of the St. Luke’s Upper Perkiomen Outpatient Center at Rtes. 663 and Geryville Pike in Pennsburg. Mensch’s contribution complements $500,000 in funds provided by State Senator Robert Wonderling in November 2006 to support the economic development plans in the Upper Perkiomen Valley. The discussion highlighted the progress of construction, timeline to opening doors to the public and the impact these new services will have on local residents.
  • Dinner by Starlight-2008 November 24, 2008 This year the Dinner by Starlight dinner, which honored the Shining Stars, was held on Thursday, November 6 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Fogelsville to benefit the St. Luke's Hospital - Allentown Campus Education Center. The new Center will occupy the first floor of the new East Wing and is slated for opening in May, 2009. The Education Center will provide state of the art space for continuing medical education, as well as an area to offer special training to the community, EMS and clinicians.
  • New Hyperbaric Chamber November 21, 2008 After 35 years of service, St. Luke's Hospital - Allentown Campus retired its hyperbaric chamber this week. This hyperbaric chamber was the first one in the Lehigh Valley for (the)many years, is the only chamber used in the Lehigh Valley on a 24 hours-a-day, seven day-a-week emergency basis and has treated tens of thousands of patients in need of hyperbaric therapy.
  • St. Luke's Opens Health Center in Hometown November 21, 2008 Representatives from St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital and public officials celebrated the grand opening of St. Luke's Miners Health Center in Hometown today. The ribbon cutting ceremony officially opened the Health Center, which began accepting patients in mid-September 2008.
  • Chemo-Bath Procedure November 18, 2008 Intraoperative Peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) is a treatment for patients whose cancer has spread along the inner lining of the abdomen, a condition known as peritoneal surface malignancy. It is not uncommon for cancer of the colon, stomach, ovaries, small intestines, appendix or other organs within the abdomen to spread to the lining of the abdominal cavity, according to Dr. Darius Desai.
