Upper Bucks Parenting Center Opens Doors to Community

Quakertown, PA (4-21-09) - Last week, the Upper Bucks Parenting Center (UBPC) opened the doors of its new office in the St. Luke's Community Education Center, 10th and Juniper Streets, to community members of Quakertown, Pennridge and Palisades. In attendance were parenting educators, Upper Bucks Parenting Center directors and community members.
The event included a presentation by two of the parenting educators on "The 7 Healthy Hats of Communication." Also, Linda Young, UBPC Board President, and Beth Nichols, UBPC Director, recognized Jo Ann Cosgrove, Constance Lee Roddy, Marge Lewis, Beth Nichols, Sue Psomiadis, and Karen Quinn who have completed the requirements and earned their certification as parenting educators. Also recognized were board members Linda Young, C. Robert Rioth, Jo Ann Cosgrove, Steve Bauder, Pauline Cassel, Eric Gladfelter, Leonard Greaney, Ashley Huck, and Thomas Rutter, who have volunteered their time and talents to the UBPC. The Bucks County Intermediate Unit provided the refreshments for the evening.
Many Workshops and Discussion Groups to Help Parents
Since 2001, the Upper Bucks Parenting Center has offered workshops, discussion groups, parent coaching and a lending library to the community free of charge thanks to the generosity of their supporters. Workshops include:

Through the years, this volunteer organization has served hundreds of families in the Quakertown, Pennridge and Palisades school districts. Recently, the center moved its office to its new location at 10th and Juniper Streets in Quakertown. "Many of our parenting educators have volunteered their time and expertise for several years. The Open House provided an excellent opportunity for our parenting educators to meet the community and to show all that our center offers," closed Beth Nichols, Director of the UBPC.
