Weis Markets Donates $20,000 to St. Luke's Women's Health Center

Funding Provides for New Ultrasound Machine at Clinic Location

Allentown, PA (10/9/2009) – Weis Markets has donated $20,000 to St. Luke's Women's Health Center to fund an ultrasound machine for the clinic location in Allentown.

“Our company and our associates are proud to give back to the communities we serve,” said David J. Hepfinger, Weis Markets President and CEO. “We often support women's health programs, and we are pleased that our donation will help pregnant women in the Allentown area deliver healthy babies.”

“This donation will mean a lot to the underserved women of Allentown, as well,” said Frank Ford, CEO of St. Luke's Hospital – Allentown Campus. “A new ultrasound machine means that the women visiting the clinic at 18th and Linden Streets in Allentown will have access to the same high level of care and technology that is available in most private obstetrical offices.”
