- Native of the Lehigh Valley and a graduate of Emmaus High School
- Spearheads the Lung Cancer Program and Thoracic Surgery at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network since 2007
- Upon completion of his training, he stayed on staff at Duke University Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Surgery from 2004 through 2007
- Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians, as well as a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery, the Association of Academic Surgeons and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association
- Clinical interests include the treatment of both lung and esophageal cancers and other benign and malignant chest tumors
- Research interests surround the design and conduct of large clinical trials, minimally invasive therapies for lung cancer, lung cancer staging and Quality of Life after lung cancer treatment
- National speaker on such topics as thoracoscopic (VATS) lobectomy and complex airway reconstruction
