Robust Didactic Schedule
The faculty of the osteopathic Emergency Medicine residency is proud of the didactic schedule we offer. The following topics are offered throughout each post-graduate year:
Grand Rounds – a weekly five-hour series of lectures by our faculty, as well as special guest lecturers in order to expand the knowledge base of our residents.
Morbidity and Mortality Conference – a monthly one-hour review of selected critical teaching cases presented by the residents and monitored by the faculty.
Chief Resident Case Follow-up Conference – a weekly one-hour time slot reserved for resident cases and issues which are organized by the chief residents and under the supervision of the faculty.
Rosen or Tintinalli Club – a bi-weekly one-hour quiz and review of assigned readings. This time is based on a strict curriculum and is used as an adjunct for preparation for board certification.
Emergency Medicine Jeopardy – an academic contest (both learning and fun) based on the popular TV show, where residents form teams competing against each other
Journal Club – a monthly meeting of residents and faculty members either at the hospital or at private homes. EM articles and issues are reviewed and discussed in a non-formal atmosphere.
All residents are encouraged to attend the many interdisciplinary conferences offered by St Luke's through the various residencies and departments.
