Ambulatory Training – Vital Aspect of Residency Program

St. Luke's feels that ambulatory training is a vital aspect of the training programs. In January 2007, St. Luke's Hospital – Allentown Campus opened a new $1.5 million Family Health Center dedicated to the family practice residents continuity-of-care experience. Each year of training brings additional responsibilities for residents at the Family Health Center.

PGY-1 – One patient session (seeing one patient per hour for six months, then two patients per hour)

PGY-2 – Three patient sessions (seeing two patients per hour for six months, then four patients per hour)

PGY-3 – Four patient sessions (seeing four patients per hour)

Each patient session is approximately three and one-half hours.
