Professional Development

Professional DevelopmentSt. Luke's School of Nursing is committed to providing every opportunity for students to grow and develop personally and professionally throughout their student nursing experience.

Students have the opportunity to become involved in professional organizations and participate on faculty teams. The faculty believes the development of students’ leadership potential is important to nursing and the community.

Student Representatives to Faculty Teams

Student representatives to faculty teams include volunteers from all classes. The volunteers represent the student body in a democratic process to plan and direct social functions and to uphold the ideals, standards and traditions of the school and of the nursing profession.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) is a representative governing body of the students at St. Luke’s School of Nursing. The SGA provides a forum for the free exchange of ideas on matters of general concern to the school community and communicates such concerns to the appropriate school departments and/or officials.

National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA)

The NSNA is a pre-professional association for nursing students. Membership activity in NSNA prepares students for involvement in professional associations upon graduation. The Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) of St. Luke’s School of Nursing is a chapter of the NSNA, offering nursing students the opportunity to become involved in many different aspects of professional education, community projects and legislative efforts that affect nursing and health care.
