Same-Day Surgery / Short Procedures - Most of the surgical patients at St Luke's Hospital - Allentown Campus choose same-day surgery because of the shorter length of time away from work and family activities. Nurses and other personnel who specialize in surgery, post anesthesia care and same-day surgery work as a team with the surgeons and anesthesiologists. All care and treatment meets the unique needs of every patient. Tests before the procedure such as EKG, X-ray and laboratory work are scheduled through the pre-admission testing office.

Hyperbaric Medicine -Hyperbaric therapy involves giving oxygen under pressure in a hyperbaric chamber. It is the main treatment for carbon monoxide and smoke inhalation cases. Other conditions that are helped with hyperbaric treatment include air or gas embolis, crush injury, wound care, decompression sickness, blood loss, soft tissue infection, radiation tissue damage and thermal burns.

The hyperbaric treatment center at St. Luke's Hospital - Allentown Campus features physicians with more than 50 combined years of experience in delivering hyperbaric medicine. St. Luke’s Hospital - Allentown Campus' hyperbaric medicine program is the only program in the region to offer an on-call service 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week for emergency treatment.

Vascular Lab -The Vascular Laboratory at St. Luke’s Hospital - Allentown Campus offers a wide range of vascular studies. The lab is accreditated by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accredidation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). A medical director is supported by specially trained vascular technicians.
