Limited Surgical Guarantees - First in the Nation
St. Luke's and its surgeons have worked together to offer a new, innovative approach to two common surgical procedures - one for women and one for men. Both surgical procedures are minimally-invasive and each is distinguished by a limited guarantee.
Reconstructive Surgery for Pelvic Prolapse
There is a minimally invasive surgery that offers promising long-term results for women with pelvic organ prolapse. This surgery technique uses a synthetic mesh to support pelvic organs that have "dropped out" of their normal position.
St. Luke's and participating gynecologic surgeons have developed and implemented a multi-faceted care plan intended to direct the pre-operative and inpatient process for patients who undergo pelvic reconstructive surgery at St. Luke's. If St. Luke's and its gynecologic surgeons do not follow the care plan, or if a patient develops specific complications directly related to the mesh pelvic reconstructive surgery within thirty (30) days of surgery, the patient and her insurance company will not be billed for services rendered by St. Luke's or participating gynecologic surgeons.

Robotic Prostate Cancer Surgery
One of the most common treatments for prostate cancer involves the surgical removal of the prostate gland, known as radical prostatectomy. Today, there is a new less-invasive surgical option called da Vinci Prostatectomy (dVP). The da Vinci Prostatectomy incorporates a state-of-the-art robotic technology to help your surgeon perform a more precise surgical procedure through tiny dime-sized incisions, rather than a traditional open incision.
St. Luke's and its urologic surgeons have developed and will adhere to a rigorous set of clinical guidelines for every surgery, for every patient. If St. Luke's and its urologic surgeons do not follow these guidelines every time, or if a patient develops specific complications directly related to the robotic prostatectomy within thirty (30) days of surgery, the patient and their insurance company will not be billed for services rendered by St. Luke's or its urologic surgeons.
